The Grey - Joe Carnahan (2012)
THE GREY. I loved it. The cinematography combined with sound effects makes everything feel very real. You're able to experience what ... would really be like. I liked Liam Neesam's character the best. The others are decent... just not astounding. Basically, this was made really well, exciting, the story's pleasantly melancholic, the gore is nicely done. whatever... just
Watch It.

Gattaca - Andrew Niccol (1997)
I finally watched Gattaca. As a big sci-fi fan, I was expecting a little more of it. The whole murder thing seemed really out of place - like they just casually made of some reason for his identity to be questioned. I like the idea and Ethan Hawke and Jude Law's characters, but I can't stand Uma Thurman. She doesn't bring anything important to the film - she's fucking boring. The whole story is just too simple... and becomes very predictable and repetitive toward the end. Yeah... I don't think it's worth watching.
Don't watch it.
Don't watch it.

Moneyball - Bennett Miller (2011)
Well... The message is interesting. Everything is just about money, not heart. Baseball is a great symbol - on one side, people love it, give their lives for it - eat breathe shit baseball out of that pure love of the game. On the other side is the business, the people who just want money, the players in it for all the wrong reasons. I am not a sports fan in ANY way, but for Americans baseball represents good values. Corrupting baseball is corrupting these values. Right now, every fucking thing is about money. Good people want change.. so they get involved then become trapped in the greed. Learn to walk away from shit that you can't change.
Blah blah blah. As for the actual movie - really long, slow. I never felt connected to anything - none of the characters were developed in order to grow attached to them, to root for them, feel for them, or just know who they are. The whole time I'm like "what is this guy's deal?" He just kept doing random shit for no reason... I couldn't figure out what his aim was, what he was striving for. So... it's a stupid movie.
Don't watch it.
The Deer Hunter - Michael Cimino (1978)
Great movie. In AFI's top 100... I just hadn't watched it yet. I loooved it. My favorite Robert De Niro and Christopher Walken so far. It's just great... nothing else to say.
WATCH it.

Leolo - Jean-Claude Lauzon (1992)
Hmmm... I gave it ten stars on Imdb. Good: interesting, strange story; imaginative; great acting; interesting soundtrack. I like all the different characters and their oddities. Bad: it gets a little boring - feels long. I don't usually find anything boring (except for old movies), but I think the story line just feels like it goes on forever. There's not really a direction it's going. Also, it has some uncomfortable sexual scenes. Overall though, it's definitely worth watching - really interesting.
Watch it!

Tyrannosaur - Paddy Considine (2011)
Really really good. Basically, everybody's fucked up no matter what they look like. We fucked up people connect through our problems and can offer each other something helpful just by being together. It's sad, but not tragic - actually feels hopeful. GREAT acting - you can feel so intensely what they feel.
Watch it. Please, watch it.
Another Earth - Mike Cahill (2011)
LOVE it. I enjoy the pace of this. The story is really interesting. Nothing about this is boring. The only problem with it is the videoing in that it feels fake in some parts, but it's also really pretty most of the time. It could be intentional... either way, it's not bad or annoying enough to ruin the movie. Overall, it's beautiful.
WATCH it.
